Wildland Fire Update
October
12, 2004
Light
wildland fire activity continues nation-wide. One new large
fire was reported in northern California. The two large fires
are currently burning a total of 4,218 acres in California.
A Type 2 Incident Management Team remains in Pensacola, Florida
at the Saufley Field Naval Air Station helping with the Hurricane
Frances and Ivan response efforts.
A
red flag warning was issued for moderate or stronger northeast
to east winds, low relative humidity, and generally poor relative
humidity recovery for mid-slope and above for Eureka, Sacramento,
and Monterey through midday on Tuesday. The Pacific Northwest
continues to have a lingering high pressure with an upper
low centered over southern California.
The
National Fire News will be updated on Mondays and Fridays
unless wildland fire activity increases.
