ANNOUNCEMENT

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) would like to invite you to a toll-free teleconference, Community Living Exchange on Housing, providing information about options that allow persons to move from living in nursing homes to living in the community.

Date: October 29, 2002
Time: 3:00-5:00 Eastern Time
Call-In Number: 1-888-790-1711
Passcode: CLE
Moderator: Maggie Nygren

Option: The original teleconference is currently archived on the web in audio file, PDF, and RTF formats at http://www.hcbs.org/technical_assistance_products.htm. Individuals may use this as an option to hear the teleconference or read a transcript of the original 7/10/02 call.

The Community Living Exchange on Housing teleconference was originally broadcast (on 7/10/02) to provide technical assistance to Systems Change grantees. Since we believe this information may be of interest to a broader audience, we are providing this rebroadcast of the 1 hour and 18 minute teleconference, followed by the opportunity for a live question and answer period with the speakers. The teleconference features Bruce Darling of the Center for Disability Rights and Marilyn Kirby of the Colorado Department of Human Services.

Bruce Darling is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Center for Disability Rights (CDR), a Rochester New York-based disability rights organization and Independent Living Center.

Marilyn Kirby is the Program Manager of the Supportive Housing and Homeless Programs (SHHP) in the Office of Behavioral Health and Housing of the Colorado Department of Human Services.

As an accommodation, individuals may submit questions and receive email responses during the live Q&A session by sending their questions via email to mnygren@cms.hhs.gov.

We hope you will be able to join us for this informative session.
