About Today in the Department of Defense
Today in DoD is the Department's main public events calendar and what's new listing. Each Today in DoD page represents a single date and has three elements:
- Significant public and media events for that date
- New items added to DefenseLINK on that date
- Contacts for questions or further information
The main Today in DoD page is always linked to the page for the current date.
Pick a Day provides a means to move from one date to another. Each Pick a Day page represents a single month and has two elements:
- A calendar for the month.
- Select a date within the month to go to the Today in DoD page for that date.
- Select the arrow at the top left or right to go to the previous or following month.
- A list of months.
- Select a month to go directly to the Pick a Day page for that month.
The main Pick a Day page is always linked to the page for the current month.
The Other Events page supplements Today in DoD by offering direct links to a wide variety of calendars, schedules, daybooks and events listings of interest or importance to the Department of Defense.
In addition to its web version, Today in DoD is available by e-mail.
Today in DoD is maintained by the Directorate for Defense Information in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs. In addition to Today in DoD, the directorate offers several other DoD News products on the web and by e-mail.
