Land Cover Analysis
Mapping BoundariesThe NOAA Coastal Services Center is developing a national baseline of land cover and change data, from which additional dates of imagery may be used to track coastal trends over time. Before the Center can begin mapping in a state or region, an appropriate mapping boundary must be determined. This boundary is carefully delineated using a predefined methodology with coastal-specific spatial data sources. The purpose of delineating this boundary is to ensure that the region defined encompasses all the land cover features that are important for monitoring a coastal ecosystem.
