This is the federal website for the Rural Facilities (RF). The Office of Community Services, Division of Community Discretionary Programs (DCDP) administers this program.

This program supports low-income rural communities in the development of affordable, safe water and waste water treatment facilities. Activities may include training and technical assistance in developing and managing water facilities in rural areas; improving the coordination of Federal, state and local agencies in water and waste water management; and distributing information.

Federal funding for RF is made available on a competitive basis to a private non-profit organization exempt from taxation under Section 501©3 of the Internal Revenue Code. OCS funds approximately 7 grants each year.
