Seasonal US/N.America Rainfall Forecasts and
Tropical Rainfall Forecasts
This is the forecast rainfall for the US, by season. On the plot,
green/blue means more rainfall than normal for that season and red/yellow
means less rainfall than normal for that season. For example, dark
blue means more than 70 millimeters per month (70 mm/month) more rainfall
than normal for that season. One inch is 25.4 millimeters. These forecasts
are for 3-month averages, i.e., "Jun-Jul-Aug 1997" is the
forecast for that 3-month average, and "Jul-Aug-Sep 1997"
is the forecast for the that 3-month average. These forecasts are
Seasonal Climate Anomalies from an atmospheric general circulation
model run by the
NCEP/EMC/Climate Modeling Branch. They are not the official NCEP
seasonal forecast, which is found above and at the
CPC Home Page.

Seasonal US/N.America Temperature Forecasts
This is the forecast temperature for the US, by season. On the plot,
blue means colder than normal for that season and red/yellow means
warmer than normal for that season. For example, dark red means
3 degrees Kelvin warmer than normal for that season. A change of one
degree Kelvin equals a change of 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit. These forecasts
are for 3-month averages, i.e., "Jun-Jul-Aug 1997" is the
forecast for that 3-month average, and "Jul-Aug-Sep 1997"
is the forecast for the that 3-month average. These forecasts are
