Prevention Research Branch

The Prevention Research Branch (PRB) is an intramural research group within the Division of Epidemiology, Statistics, and Prevention Research at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), National Institutes of Health (NIH). The PRB conducts research to promote healthful behaviors and prevent or ameliorate disease during pregnancy, infancy, childhood and adolescence. PRB behavioral scientists conduct research to identify factors that explain health-related behaviors in mothers, children, and adolescents, and evaluate intervention strategies designed to alter health behavior and improve health. Study designs include surveys, efficacy and effectiveness trials, and demonstration and education projects.
