Our Mission
The Office of the Federal Register (OFR) informs citizens of their rights and obligations by providing ready access to the official text of Federal laws, Presidential documents, administrative regulations and notices, and descriptions of Federal organizations, programs and activities.
About Us
The OFR was established in 1935 by the Federal Register Act. The Federal Register system operates under the authority of the Administrative Committee of the Federal Register.
Other Responsibilities
The OFR is also responsible for coordinating the functions of the Electoral College and for administering
the constitutional amendment process.
