The EIN, an expertise database developed through a partnership between the Ecological Society of America (ESA) and the NBII, may offer guidance. Developed through a partnership between the NBII and the Natural Science Collections Alliance, TRED is a directory of taxonomic specialists for the biota of North America (north of Mexico). This database is hosted by the Expert Center for Taxonomic Identification, "dedicated to improve on a global scale the quantity, quality and accessibility of taxonomic information, based on an initiative of UNESCO." A consortium of U.S. universities, CICP's "principal purpose [is] to assist developing nations to reduce food crop losses caused by pests while also safe-guarding the environment." Hosted by North Carolina State University, "this database is populated with Pest Management experts representing research and extension personnel, land grant institutions, grower organizations, NGO's and environmental institutes. The purpose of this database is to provide a valuable resource by creating partnerships between IPM experts and individuals seeking accurate, up-to-date, Pest Management information." Community of Science (COS) Expertise is the largest web network of its kind comprised of detailed professional information for nearly 480,000 scientists and scholars worldwide. Built in collaboration with more than 260 leading research universities, government agencies, and other R&D organizations from around the world, COS Expertise is the foundation of COS' international faculty information system. The Environment Industry Expertise Database is a detailed list of Australian companies and government organisations providing technologies, instrumentation, monitoring equipment, and consulting services including engineering, information technology, and legal services relating to environmental issues and problems. The USGS Biological Resources Discipline (BRD) is the federal agency responsible for scientific research in support of Department of Interior agencies charged with the conservation and management of our nation's natural resources. BRD scientists provide expertise in zoology, botany, soil biology, ecosystem studies, and many other areas. Developed by the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis for the Center for Water Resources at University of California-Riverside, this database lists scientists conducting research aimed at solving a broad array of scientific and practical problems concerned with managing and conserving water and wildland resources, as well as those experts actually managing these resources. The Directory of Expertise has more than 2,000 listings of faculty and staff from the University of California and California State University systems, and experts from state and federal agencies all of whom are involved with water-related/wildland-related research and resource management in California.
