Terror Attacks in Northeast India

The United States strongly condemns the wave of violence in India’s northeastern states during the October 2-3 weekend. There is no justification for these senseless attacks that killed as many as 50 civilians and wounded over 100 in the states of Nagaland and Assam. We extend our deepest sympathies to the victims and their families and hope that Indian authorites will be able quickly to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
