Dear FTC:

I urge you to keep the existing standard regarding the "Made in USA" label.

In this period of growing international trade and reduced trade barriers, it is more important than ever that American consumers make informed decisions about the origins of everything we buy.

I, for example, will not buy a product any part of which was made in mainland China. I will not knowingly support their custom of using prison labor to make products for export, since I consider this to be a form of slavery.

Similarly, I will not buy products from Pakistan, because of their history of using and abusing child labor, or from Mexico until they improve their environmental protection enforcement.

Please do not make it more difficult for me to exercise my economic boycott of other countrys' social, economic, and environmental policies.

Please do not make it harder for me to reward USA companies which play by the rules.

Sincerely,

John C. Milton
