RE: Made in USA label

Dear Mr. Clark:

We are opposed to the proposal that products that are "substantially" made in the United States be allowed to carry the Made in USA label.

We know that items produced in this country are of higher quality than those made in other countries. We rely on the Made in USA label and are willing to pay more for the quality assurance.

It is difficult to determine what products are safe, but we know if there is a Made in the USA label on the item, there is a high probability the quality is higher and the safety standards are also better.

We strongly urge the FTC to continue to require that products that display the Made in the USA label are truly made here.

Sincerely,

James P. McKinnon
