Dear Ms. Kolish,

I always try to buy American, and therefor am concerned about the proposed new rules for the “Made in the U.S.A.” label.

75% U.S. content seems too low. 80% or even 90% would be better.

The calculation method is also very important. Costs should be based on U.S. production, even for imported parts. If it costs $10 to make a part here and $3 to make it overseas, the $10 figure should be used.

Shipping costs should be considered as important parts unless U.S. carriers are used.

Free trade may be as wonderful as many people keep saying it is, but we all should have the right to make our own decisions based on the availability of good information.

Sincerely,

Ted Hogg
