The code list files necessary to use the World Ocean Database 2001

• accesion.txt - list of accession numbers, submitting institutes, submitting investigator, date of receipt of data, and type of instrument

 
• argosfix.txt - code table identifying ARGOS satellite fix and location accuracy

 
• bioheadr.txt - code table identifying the biological headers

 
• castdir.txt - code table identifying cast direction

 
• cbv_meth.txt - code table identifying the CBV methods

 
• cbv_unit.txt - code table identifying the CBV units

 
• cloudcov.txt - code table identifying the cloud cover (WMO-2700 or NODC-0052)

 
• cloudtyp.txt - code table identifying the cloud type (WMO-0500 or NODC-0053)

 
• cntmeth.txt - code table identifying the counting methods for plankton data

 
• country.txt - NODC country code (a 2-digit alphanumeric code), and the corresponding country

 
• datatr.txt - code table identifying data treatment (NODC 0614)
