Transit (C1) Visas
How to Apply
If you wish to transit through the U.S. to your final destination, you must apply by interview for a C1 visa through Visa Information Web Services at https://www.us-visaservices.com. Even if you are temporarily in Korea, you must schedule an interview appointment. Please bring the required documents listed below to your scheduled interview.
Required Documents
A signed passport valid for more than six months.
A completed and signed Nonimmigrant Visa Application (DS-156) with photo (50mm x 50mm, white background, taken within the past 6 months) and a completed Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application (DS-157) for each applicant.
A receipt from the HanMi (KorAm) Bank for the MRV application fee for each applicant. The fee may be paid at any of the bank's branches in Korea.
Flight itinerary showing travel plans.
Proof of current employment, such as original bank books which demonstrate economic activity over a period of time, pay receipts, income tax returns and workplace identity card. A letter written by your company attesting to your employment is insufficient.
If you are not a Korean citizen and/or your usual residence is not Korea, please provide proof of your legal status in Korea.
A courier service receipt from an Embassy-approved courier company (DHL Ilyang: 1588-0002; Hanjin: 1588-0011) within Korea. You may get courier from either DHL Ilyang or Hanjin.
