Nomination
President Bush to Nominate Bolton to be Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition Logistics and Technology
President George W. Bush announced his intention to nominate Claude M.
Bolton, Jr. to be Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition
Logistics and Technology. Major General Bolton is presently
the commander of the Air Force Security Assistance Center at
Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright Patterson Air Force
Base in Ohio. He has served in the Air Force since 1969 and
his duties have included squadron and wing safety officer, instructor
pilot, wing standardization and evaluation and flight examiner,
scheduler, test pilot and acquisition professional. Bolton
has completed tours of duty at the Pentagon, around the country and
overseas. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of
Nebraska, a Master's degree in management from Troy State University
and a Master's degree in national security and strategic studies from
the Naval War College.
