Role and Responsibilities

The Participant’s Supervisor’s role is to support their employee’s participation in this AFM program.

Responsibilities

  • Respect the Program ground rule that the mentoring relationship is confidential, which means that the supervisor and mentor may not discuss the mentee’s situation.
  • Be flexible about time so that the pair can meet up to the agreed limits (up to an hour a week).
  • Listen responsively when the mentee comes back with suggestions, goals, and potential steps.
  • Provide the mentee with feedback that will be helpful in the mentoring process, concerning their performance and self presentation.
