Weather Research and Forecast Model (WRF)

The weather research and forecast model is destined to
become the operational model for the United States National Weather Service
in October 2004. This model was developed in a successful collaboration
between the university community and government research laboratories.
FSL's Acvanced Computing Branch has been working on the development of
WRF in a number of areas.
I. WRF I/O API

Developed, implemented and supported the WRF I/O API using
netCDF.

Developed and implemented a model coupling interface using
the WRF I/O API.

Ported WRF version 1 to FSL's intel and alpha clusters and
regression tested release.
II. Model Coupling
-
The model coupling toolkit (MCT) is being used to build a
coupling capability into the WRF model
III. WRF Grid Portal
IV. Supporting the WRF Test Plan:

Ported the NCEP verification package to ijet

Porting the NCEP post processing package to ijet

Porting WRF/NMM to ijet
