Putting it All Together: A New Approach to System Acquisition

On September 23, 1999, the next ODUSD/AR Satellite event will be coming to a site near you. The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Acquisition Reform, will host a powerful Live Satellite Broadcast with web simulcast designed specifically for the Systems Acquisition workforce. A distinguished panel representing the Joint Chiefs of Staff and private industry will take questions from audience members and callers from around the country, and discuss how to make the new acquisition driving forces work for you.

Understand how commercial practices, concepts and technologies are achieving better, faster and cheaper long range procurements from an interview with the Honorable Dr. Jacques S. Gansler, Under Secretary of Defense, for Acquisition and Technology.

Speak openly with a panel of industry pioneers about the concepts that will exemplify the ideal features of the acquisition process for the next millennium. This live video satellite broadcast will explore the "new front end" concepts being used in the acquisition process and will help viewers to examine the new practices that will revolutionize the system acquisitions of tomorrow. Program Managers, Systems Acquisition personnel and industry will have the opportunity to assess documented case studies that have successfully used these concepts to reduce the total cost of long term strategic acquisitions.
