A significant portion of the Division of Ocean Sciences' budget supports the ocean-related Global Change programs, which are administered by the programs within the Ocean Section (Biological, Chemical and Physical Oceanography), the Marine Geology and Geophysics program within the Marine Geosciences Section, and the Ocean Technology and Interdisciplinary Coordination program within the Integrative Programs Section.

These programs are briefly summarized below. They are components of the NSF Global Change Program, and in turn the multi-agency US Global Change Research Program (USGCRP). A link is provided to more detailed descriptions of each program on the NSF Global Change Homepage, where you can also find information on the complete suite of NSF and USGCRP programs. There are also links to community maintained homepages for most programs. These often contain information on cruises, data collected, meetings, steering committee membership and much more.
