Bulletproof Vest Partnership
The Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act of 1998 provides federal assistance to State, local, and tribal governments to equip their law enforcement officers with body armor. This site describes the program and presents the entire application and funding processes online.

Community Policing: National Survey Update of Police and Sheriffs' Departments
Online, searchable data from 1,110 police agencies nationwide that have implemented community policing, based on a 1997 national survey of community policing sponsored by NIJ, with additional funding from COPS. Search by agency type and size, and generate reports about the nature of the community policing programs implemented.

Consultant Information System (CIS)
CIS is a searchable data base of researchers and practitioners listed by areas of expertise, used by NIJ staff to select people to conduct proposal and report reviews, serve on panels, and perform other consultant tasks. Experts can register at the Web site to be added to the data base.

Health Status of Soon-to-be-Released Inmates: A Report to Congress
This Report to Congress was funded by NIJ and published by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. It provides the results of research on the prevalence of common and remediable diseases among inmates due for release from prisions and jails in the US, assesses the cost effectiveness of prevention or treatment, and discusses policy implications.
