Fostering Safe and Healthy Environments Protecting the health of Americans from risks related to their environment is accomplished through CDC's programs and activities that identify and determine the scope of public health problems, conduct research to identify probable causes of these problems, collect data to monitor health concerns, and develop and evaluate public health programs. Although exposures to some environmental hazards have decreased because of new regulations and standards, people continue to be exposed to unnecessary environmental hazards. |
