Meeting the Health and Safety Needs
of a Changing Workforce

American workers are getting older and becoming more diverse. Jobs in the American economy continue to shift from manufacturing to services. Americans are working longer hours, and more workers are in temporary positions. Addressing the occupational safety and health ramifications of the evolving nature of work for a workforce that likewise is changing is one of the greatest public health challenges facing us today.
