Policies and Philosophies

The Financial Management Office has established the following policies and philosophies with the goal of fostering a work environment that is characterized by fairness and respect and that supports the diverse talents and needs of our most valuable asset—the employee.

Management accessibility: FMO maintains an “open door” policy, and employees are welcome to schedule one-on-one appointments with FMO management.

Employee empowerment: FMO empowers all of its employees with the tools and training to do their jobs well and expects each employee to take ownership and responsibility for their respective duties and position.

Communication/decision making: FMO supports open and upward communication and respects, values, and recognizes the viewpoints and contributions of its employees.

Work environment: FMO supports family-friendly programs including compressed work week, flexible work schedules, flexiplace, and maxiflex.

Diversity: FMO values the contributions of each individual and a workforce that reflects the population we serve.

Training: FMO encourages employees to take advantage of work- and mission-related training opportunities each year.

Awards: FMO recognizes outstanding employee performance through available award programs.
