SAMHSA is the Federal Agency with responsibility for helping to make recovery services available for people with substance abuse problems or people at risk for them. If you think you might need help for a substance abuse problem, or you know someone who might, take a look at the information for individuals.

Medication-assisted Treatments

SAMHSA has responsibility for the Federal treatment programs for heroin addiction.  For more information, go to:
