Fleet Assistance, Support and Technology Transfer (FASTT)

FASTT is a joint program of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) with participation from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) and the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP). FASTT's mission is to reduce the cost of environmental compliance and improve maintenance work processes using the best technology and management practices available within the Navy. FASTT's services include assistance with cost and benefit analysis for equipment purchases and installation justification.

The approach is to perform an on-site assessment of maintenance processes and environmental requirements from the viewpoint of the fleet operator and maintainer. The goal is to find maintenance solutions that protect the environment and reduce the workload or cost to the customer. Emphasis is placed on finding, developing and implementing only those material substitutions, work process changes, and technology acquisitions that will not increase the burden on the fleet sailor who is responsible for the maintenance.
