The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) between the United States, Canada and Mexico eliminates or reduces duties and trade barriers in a wide number of sectors including transportation. Transportation-related provisions are contained in the Services, Investments, Goods and Standards Chapters and in the NAFTA Annexes which generally list exceptions to committments contained in the agreement. The Office of International Law is responsible for legal interpretation of these transportiation-related provisions.
