Workplace Safety & Health
In 2002, there were 5,524 occupational fatalities in the US across all industries, and over 4.7 million new nonfatal injuries and illnesses reported in private industry alone. CDC provides national and world leadership to prevent work-related illness, injury, disability, and death by gathering information, conducting scientific research, and translating the knowledge gained into products and services.
