September 21-23, 2004 - IPCC Expert Meeting on Industrial Technology Development, Transfer and Diffusion to be held in Tokyo, Japan. IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) is preparing its Fourth Assessment Report (due 2007). As one of the steps in preparation of its contribution, Working Group III of IPCC (Mitigation of Climate change) will hold an Expert Meeting on Industrial Technology Development, Transfer and Diffusion (on invitation only). This meeting aims at increasing the involvement of Industry in the contribution of Working Group III with regard to technology development, transfer and diffusion. IPCC invites those form industry (and academia as well) with expertise relevant to industry technology development, transfer, and diffusion, to submit an abstract for a paper. September 21-24, 2004 - Arctic Climate Impact Assessment (ACIA) International Scientific Symposium on Climate Change in the Arctic will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland. This symposium will address a variety of issues connected to climate change in the circumpolar Arctic and its environmental and societal consequences. September 27-29, 2004 - Climate Change: A Challenge or a Threat for Water Management to be held in Amsterdam RAI, The Netherlands. October 25-29, 2004 - Regional and Global Perspectives on Haze: Causes, Consequences and Controversies to be held in Asheville, NC. This international conference will provide a technical forum to present advances in the scientific understanding of the effects of air pollution on regional, continental and global scale haze phenomena. The conference will specifically address: emission sources, atmospheric conditions, and aerosol characteristics associated with large scale haze events; innovative monitoring, assessment and modeling methods applied to haze; and air quality management implications.
