At a ceremony, Secretary Thompson gave a gift of a cow that
was seven months' pregnant to the hospital. The dedication of
a cow, which provides milk and a future of producing other cows,
is considered a high honor and it creates a permanent bond between
the person giving the gift and those receiving the gift. It
is the responsibility of the person presenting the cow to name
it. In honor of his hometown, Secretary Thompson named the cow
Elroy.
