Question: How do I get the full text of articles I find in my MEDLINE/PubMed search?

Answer:

From MEDLINE/PubMed:

Click on a full-text icon if there is one.

Or, click on the underlined author of a PubMed citation to find a hyperlink to:

"Free full-text article in PubMed Central";
a publisher link; or
the word "Links" for LinkOut.

From LocatorPlus:

If available, click on "Internet" or "Electronic Link" in the location field "Internet" or "Electronic Link"

To find libraries that may provide whole articles:

The NLM will send articles to other libraries, but not to individuals. Read more about NLM Interlibrary Loan services which includes Loansome Doc.

Contact a public, university or health sciences library and ask if they can provide you Loansome Doc or Interlibrary Loan services.

Check the MedlinePlus list of consumer health libraries, which is always available from the "Other Resources" page;

If you cannot find a library to help you, call the National Network of Libraries of Medicine for suggestions (800) 338-7657.
