National Oceanographic Partnership Program

Description

Established by Congress in FY 1997, the National Oceanographic Partnership Program (NOPP) is a collaboration of fourteen Federal agencies to provide leadership and coordination of national oceanographic research and education programs. The governing body of NOPP is the National Ocean Research Leadership Council, presently chaired by the NSF Director, Dr. Rita Colwell. Periodic announcements of opportunity are issued covering areas of interest such as: operational/routine observations, research “observatories,” observational technique development, a “commons” for ocean information, and education/outreach.
