Bella Napoli Italian Bakery Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Eggs in Italian Rolls

Troy, New York - August 6, 2001 -- Bella Napoli is recalling product labeled as Italian Rolls because it may contain undeclared eggs. Dinner rolls, which contain eggs were inadvertently packaged in bags and labeled as Italian Rolls, which do not contain eggs. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Rolls were distributed through Price Chopper stores in Troy, Latham Cohoes and Watervliet.

Product is packaged in a 16 oz., uncoded clear plastic bag, containing twelve rolls.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets lab analysis that the dinner rolls contain eggs.

Product can be returned to Bella Napoli Bakery at 721 River Street, Troy for full refund.
