Adamba Imports Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Peanuts in "Kasztanki" and "Viola" Chocolate Candy

Brooklyn, NY - May 20, 2002 -- Adamba Imports International Inc., 585 Meserole St., Brooklyn, NY 11237, is recalling its 8 ounce packages of "Kasztanki" and "Viola" chocolate candies because they contain undeclared peanuts. People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The recalled "Kasztanki" and "Viola" chocolate candies were distributed in metropolitan NY retail stores. The products come in an 8 ounce, clear plastic package marked "Kasztanki" with UPC #76841-01272; and "Viola" with UPC #76841-01275.

The recalls were initiated after it was discovered that the peanut-containing products were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of peanuts. Distribution of these products has been suspended until the company is certain that the problem has been corrected.

Consumers who have purchased 8 ounce packages of "Kasztanki" and "Viola" chocolate candies are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at (718) 628-9700.
