Consumer Alert: Undeclared Eggs in Homerun Ball Biscuits

Brooklyn, NY - July 9, 2002 -- State Agriculture Commissioner Nathan L. Rudgers today issued an alert to consumers who are sensitive to eggs, not to consume Homerun Ball Biscuits distributed by T Up Trading, Inc., 60 Metroway, Seacaucus, New Jersey, 07094 due to the presence of undeclared eggs. People who have allergies to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products.

Homerun Ball Biscuits are packaged in 155-gram (5.46 ounces) plastic containers within a foiled bag. The container code is 20 03-03-28. The biscuits are a product of Korea.

Routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets food inspectors revealed the product contained undeclared eggs. The product was distributed in the New York Metropolitan area. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Consumers who are allergic to eggs and purchased Homerun Ball Biscuits are urged to return them to the place of purchase.
