Bishop Baking Company Issues Allergy Alert On Undeclared Egg In Packages Of Oatmeal Crème Filled Pies And Cookies
Cleveland, TN-December 7, 2001-Bishop Baking Company is recalling oatmeal crème filled pies and cookies. These products contain undeclared egg. People who have an allergy to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
This recall involves oatmeal crème filled pies and cookies sold under the brand names listed below. Products included in the recall do not declare egg in the ingredient statement.

No other products marketed under the above brand names are involved. Products that declare egg in the ingredient statement are not affected by this recall.
No allergic reactions have been reported. This product was distributed throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
The recall was initiated when the bakery discovered, through an internal quality audit, that the packaging did not declare the presence of eggs. The product labeling will be revised to declare egg.
