This is a revised version of Fay Da Manufacturing Corporation's recall
press release, originally issued Sept. 12, 2003. The original version has been
corrected to remove reference to lemon cookies, which are not included
in this recall.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Brooklyn, NY -- September 12, 2003 -- Fay Da Manufacturing
Corp., 192 Seigel Street, Brooklyn, NY 11206 is recalling Apricot Cookies because
it may contain undeclared eggs. People who have allergies to eggs run the risk
of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.
The recalled Apricot Cookies packed in uncoded, clamshell type, clear-top, plastic
containers were sold in Fay Da Bakeries located in the New York Metropolitan
area.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered through a routine investigation by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors that the product containing eggs was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of eggs.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
Consumers who have purchased Apricot Cookies are urged to return them to the place of purchase. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-718-456-9331.
