Forever Cheese, Inc. Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Sulfites in Product

Whitestone, NY - April 29, 2003) - Forever Cheese, Inc., 166-35 9th Avenue, Suite 8A, Whitestone, NY 11357 is recalling 2-ounce packages of "Mitica Apricot Bars", because they may contain undeclared sulfites. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The 2-ounce packages of "Mitica Apricot Bars" were distributed in the tri-state area of NY, NJ and CT through specialty food stores.

The product is packaged in a 2-ounce clear plastic package, There is no apparent code. It is labeled "Product of Spain".

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product containing sulfites was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of sulfites. Distribution of the product has been suspended until product is properly labeled.

Consumers who have purchased 2-ounce packages of "Mitica Apricot Bars" are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-888-930-8693.
