Great Skott Foods Co. Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Peanut Pieces in Yogurt Raisins

MILWAUKEE, WI. - February 14, 2001 - Great Skott Foods is recalling our 16 oz. Yogurt Raisins packed under the Great Skott label (bar-code #74526 70177), because it may contain undeclared peanut pieces. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Yogurt Raisins was distributed in Wisconsin to grocery stores.

These Yogurt Raisins are 16 oz. and come in a clear cellophane bag. The problem bags come with a 0201 or 0202 code in the lower right hand corner of the white rear label under the nutritional information.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in response to a consumer complaint found that the yogurt raisins contained yogurt peanuts and peanut pieces. Great Skott Foods is working in complete cooperation with the FDA.

Consumers who have purchased Great Skott Foods (Yogurt Raisins) with the above codes are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Great Skott Foods at 414-291-9977.
