Gustafson's Dairy, Inc. Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Whey Powder in Gustafson Brand Chocolate Break

Green Cove Springs, FL - August 5, 2002 -- Gustafson's Dairy, Inc. of Green Cove Springs, Fla. is recalling all gallons of chocolate break drink because it may contain undeclared whey powder. People who have an allergy to whey powder run the
risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Gustafson's brand gallons of Chocolate Break drink were distributed in North and Central Florida through retail stores.

The product is contained in one gallon HDPE plastic jugs. The product is chocolate in color and contains the words "Gustafson Brand Chocolate Break" on the brown label. All product with a "sell by" date through AUG 26 02D and earlier is included in the recall. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product containing whey powder was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of whey powder.

Consumers who have purchased Gustafson Brand Chocolate Break are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-800-342-1092.
