Brooklyn, NY - August 21, 2002 -- Ho's Trading Inc., located at 1010 Dean Street, Brooklyn, NY 11238, is recalling 12oz. plastic containers of Fructs Lycll Herb because the product contains undeclared sulfites. People who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious life threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product.

The Fructs Lycll Herb, a product of China, was distributed in uncoded, 12oz. plastic containers in the following states: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, and Florida.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered through routine sampling by NYS Dept. of Agriculture & Markets food inspectors that the product containing sulfites, was distributed in packaging that did not declare the presence of sulfites. Consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more of sulfites. Analysis of the Fructs Lycll Herb revealed that it contained 136.9 milligrams per serving.

Establishments and consumers who have purchased the 12oz. plastic containers of Fructs Lycll Herb can return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 718-622-2288.
