Allergy Alert on Undeclared Eggs in Market Basket Brownie Fudge Ice Cream

Chelsea, MA - March 12, 2003 -- HP Hood, the manufacturer of Market Basket brand Ice Cream today announced that it is recalling all half-gallon containers of Market Basket brand Brownie Fudge Ice Cream with a code date of 12/04/03 0905. The code is located on the end flap of the carton.

Consumers should note that there is egg in the pieces of brownie and it is not indicated on the ingredient label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

This product has been distributed to Market Basket store location in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. No adverse reactions to this product have been reported.

The problem is confined to half-gallon containers of Market Basket brand Brownie Fudge Ice Cream with a code date of 12/04/03 0905. No other products are affected.

Consumers may return the affected ice cream to their local store to obtain a refund.
