Hicksville, NY - July 12, 2002 -- J.V. Trading (Glendale), Ltd, located at 385 West John Street, Hicksville NY 11801, is recalling 8.4oz packages of "Assorted Confectionary" in green plastic bags and in red/brown plastic bags because they contain undeclared peanuts. People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The "Assorted Confectionary" products come in uncoded, 8.4 ounce green plastic bags and red/brown plastic bags. The recalled "Assorted Confectionary" products were distributed to New York, New Jersey, Ohio and Illinois.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Agriculture & Markets food inspectors discovered that the product was distributed in packages that did not reveal the presence of peanuts.

Consumers who have 8.4 oz size packages of "Assorted Confectionary" in either green plastic bags or red/brown plastic bags can return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions can contact the company at (516) 942-9308.
