Allergy Alert on Undeclared Peanuts in Witor's Golden Poker Milk Chocolate Pralines

Buffalo, NY - January 24, 2003 -- Mayfair Sales, Inc., 1100 Military Road, Buffalo, NY 14217 is recalling 7 oz. packages of Witor's Golden Poker Milk Chocolate Pralines, because they may contain undeclared peanuts. People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious life threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The recalled Pralines were distributed in Western New York, Central New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey. The product comes in a 7-ounce fiber carton with no apparent code.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

Routine sampling by N-Y.S. Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors revealed the presence of peanuts, which were not declared on the label.

Consumers who have purchased the 7 oz. packages of Witor's Golden Poker Milk Chocolate Pralines are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-800-248-2881, attention Paul Zak.
