The Pasta Shoppe Recalls Shaped Pasta Due to Undeclared Eggs

Nashville, TN - April 5, 2002 -- The Pasta Shoppe of Nashville, Tennessee, manufacturers of gourmet pasta and baked goods, is recalling our shaped pasta line because it contains undeclared eggs. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. All pasta is packaged in clear polypropylene bags and have decorative labels with The Pasta Shoppe listed as the manufacturer. These products include the following:

However, no illnesses have been reported to date.

These products were distributed nationwide through specialty retail stores and by direct purchase.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the shaped pasta line containing egg whites was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of eggs.

Consumers who have purchased shaped pasta should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-615-831-0016 x 209. As of April 4th , 2002 all products shipped reflect the usage of eggs.
