Patterson Frozen Foods Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Egg in Frozen "Best Yet Brand Stir-Fry Vegetables with Noodles"


Patterson, CA - March 22, 2002 -- Patterson Frozen Foods of Patterson, California is recalling 3360 bags of frozen “Best Yet Stir-Fry Vegetables with Noodles”, because the noodles contain undeclared egg. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The recalled frozen “Best Yet Stir-Fry Vegetables with Noodles” were distributed in areas of California, Utah, Nevada and Idaho where it is sold in retail stores.

The frozen “Best Yet Stir-Fry Vegetables with Noodles” are in a multi-color 16 ounce plastic bag. The bag is about 11-1/2” long x 6-1/2” wide. The code P24A2A or P24A2B will be stamped on the back of bag. The “Best Yet” brand seal is on the front along with a picture.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with this problem.

The label was not flagged as a label requiring a noodle without egg during the screening done prior to the first production run. A review of labels revealed the problem prior to subsequent production runs.

Consumers can return the frozen“ Best Yet Stir-Fry Vegetables with Noodles” for a full refund at the store where it was purchased. Consumers with questions may contact the “Best Yet” representative at 1-888-692-3781. This phone number is on the back of bags.
