Perry Food Market Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Milk Protein in Blueberry Strudel Bites

Perry, NY - April 15, 2003 -- Perry Food Market of Perry, N.Y., is recalling its 12 count packages of Blueberry Strudel Bites because the product may contain undeclared milk protein. People who have allergies to milk protein run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The recalled Blueberry Strudel Bites are packaged in a 12 count plastic package with code 008821 March 27.
No serious illnesses have been reported to date in connection to this problem.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the milk protein containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of milk protein. Production of the Blueberry Strudel Bites has been suspended until the company is certain that the labeling error has been corrected.

Customers who have purchased this product are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 585-237-2910.
