Quaker Oats Issues Voluntary Recall on Quaker Oatmeal Brown Sugar Bliss Cold Cereal

Chicago, IL - February 21, 2003 -- Quaker Oats is recalling one of its cold cereals, Quaker Oatmeal Brown Sugar Bliss, packaged in 16-ounce boxes with the Best if Used By dates of SEP 08 03RS, SEP 09 03RS and SEP 10 03RS.

The recall may affect approximately 23,000 cases of the cold cereal nationwide, which may contain almonds in the product. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. No other Quaker cereal or food product is affected, and Quaker has notified the U.S. Food & Drug Administration of the recall.

Consumers with this product should throw it away and return the box top with the Best if Used By information for a full refund to Quaker Plaza Consumer Response, P.O.
