Shaw's Supermarkets Voluntarily Removes from Sale Shaw's In-Store Bakery Brownies Blondie

West Bridgewater, MA, March 21, 2003, - Shaw's Supermarkets, Inc. has voluntarily removed from sale at all Shaw's and Star Market store locations, Shaw's in-store Bakery Brownies Blondie 6-packs.

Shaw's issued the recall because the Brownies Blondie contains peanuts, which is not listed in the ingredient statement on the product packaging. Consumption of this product by individuals that have a peanut allergy can result in a series reaction.

The UPC on the Brownies Blondie 6-packs is 0 045674 331593. Customers who purchased the Blondie Brownies may bring the product back to the store for a full refund. Customers who have questions or concerns about the recall can contact Shaw's Consumer Response Center's toll free number, 1-888-431-7429.
