SYRACUSE, NY- June 13, 2001 -- Speach Candy Company, New York is recalling plain chocolate fudge and chocolate coconut fudge because it may contain traces of undeclared peanuts. People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The fudge was sold only in our retail store at 2400 Lodi Street. Sales took place between April 9, 2001 and June 13, 2001. These items were served bulk from our display.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

Consumers who have purchased chocolate or chocolate coconut fudge are urged to return it to Speach Candy Company at 2400 Lodi Street, Syracuse, NY 13208 for a full refund. Consumers with any questions may contact the store at 315-478-3100.
